So before the league started, we had a competition to see who could come up with the best logo for the Toronto Christian Basketball Association.
The winner of this competition was Tennille Dowers! Thanks a lot Tennille!
Here's the logo:
THE CONCEPT
The Hand with the hole in the middle symbolizes a post-crucifixion race-less Jesus. The open Hand has several functions. It is an extended welcoming Hand - an invitation to the viewer. The Hand is also about the catch the globe-like basketball - this is a reference to protection.
The Hand and ball together cast a shadow. Within the shadow, the hole in the Hand emits a spot light; the cross appears as a projection of light through the dark shadow creating a path. This path leads back to the open Hand, reinforcing the invitation initially made by the outstretched Hand.

The path was left as a gap in the circle as a reminder that the journey is not over and that there is still hope to follow the path of Christianity. Like the hole/nail print in the Hand, the gap in the circle also hints at the 2nd coming that will eventually complete the circle.
